The monthly membership is a very cost effective way of having access to a jewellery workshop. Your monthly membership includes the following:
Access to a jewellery bench.
Use of shared tools, including hearth and blowtorch with gas, pickle, pillar drill, polishing wheel and tumbler. Small tools such as pliers, hammers, doming and swaging blocks and more are also available.
A personal locker.
Keys to access the studio when it suits you.*
A listing in our members area where you can share your work, website or social links.
There are no additional costs for gas or electricity. Internet access is usually available but is not guaranteed. We have hot drink making facilities, but may ask for donations if you use the communal tea and coffee.
To arrange a visit or apply for a monthly membership please complete the form below.
New members must take a brief health and safety demonstration before you will be able to use the studio. This is a one off session and will cost £15. Monthly memberships have a minimum term of 3 months. Full terms and conditions on request.
As part of our ethos and commitment to mentoring and supporting local students and graduates, anyone currently studying or recent graduates of jewellery and metalwork at Hallam will not be charged for the health and safety demo, but will need to demonstrate full understanding of workshop health and safety.
Members will receive keys and an alarm fob and will be required to put down a deposit of £50.
*You can have 24hr access to the studio, except when classes are running – this must be pre-arranged with the course leader and is subject to class size and available space. Any courses running will be highlighted in the calendar in the studio and online (access to the online calendar as part of your membership).
