Once you have paid for the 6 class pass you will be emailed details of how you can make an account and you will be able to book yourself onto the sessions you choose via the events calendar. This ‘class pass’ gives you access to six, 2 hour classes. You don’t have to take 6 sessions consecutively. Take the classes whenever works for you. You don’t have to book all of your sessions straight away, if you don’t want to (although booking ahead will reserve your place and is preferred). The class pass expires 12 weeks after the date of your first class (not the date you purchase it), unless otherwise agreed with your tutor.

You will have ample time to create a couple of pieces of jewellery for yourself, whilst also meeting some lovely like minded people who are all feeling inspired to learn a new hobby and get creative.

You can take this course more than once without worrying about repeating the same lessons, we will work with you at your level as you continue to develop and produce your jewellery. Many students continue to attend weekly for long periods of time and continue to learn and develop.

Metal costs are not included in the course price as they vary depending on students designs. If you work in silver you can typically expect to pay between £5 and £30 (as a very rough guide) throughout. Usually students start with a silver ring/pendant in session 1+2 and this costs about £5.

These classes changed my life! I first signed up for fun, thinking it would be a one-off sort of thing, little did I know I would love jewellery so much and would be completely hooked from the first class. I have to say though that the friendly environment in the classes and the excellent teaching also contributed to that. Everyone is so lovely, and Emmie (who is a super talented jeweller) does a great job making sure everyone is happy and learns all the techniques to make beautiful pieces.
If you haven’t signed up yet, do it now!

  2. Emma

I started this class as I was looking for a creative outlet and this class definitely gave me that!
Emmie is a fantastic teacher with a natural ability to adapt to people’s learning styles. The atmosphere in the class is lovely and the studio is filled with everything you could ever need!
I have learnt so much from these classes and a year later I am still attending.

  3. Pauline Williams

As a total beginner to making jewellery I have been expertly taught by Emmie. The workshop is well equipped and I have had the opportunity to try out different skills: designing, sawing, polishing, soldering, enamelling, and Emmie is always full of great ideas and support. I am no longer a beginner and I love my class. I have learned so much.

One of my favourite times of the week is now 6 – 8pm Thursday evening!
It’s not a prescriptive class, everyone is at different levels of experience; you simply tell Emmie your ideas and she will teach you how to create them!
The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed and fun, you learn so much without realising!
I can’t recommend the classes enough.
Thanks Emmie and the Thursday night crew!

I can’t recommend Emmie’s jewellery classes highly enough. I enrolled for a six week block in August 2016 and I’m still going! The classes are relaxed, friendly and extremely enjoyable. Emmie is a fantastic teacher and she has helped me to design and make lots of beautiful pieces for myself and for friends which I would never have thought possible. I have even made myself a gold wedding ring! As I go on holiday quite regularly, I like the flexibility of the classes. You don’t have to go every week as long as you let Emmie know. She is very amenable and will carry forward the class fee to the next class you are able to attend.

I started a 6 week course with Emmie 2 years ago and loved it so much that I have been attending her classes ever since! The sessions are informal and everyone works at their own pace with Emmie supporting any ideas we might have. I was surprised how quickly I was able to make my first piece of jewellery and from then on I have gone on to create many pieces that I never expected to be able to make, using different techniques. The other students are lovely and everyone is very supportive and encouraging and the studio feels like a little creative haven! I love these classes and would really recommend them to anyone who wants to give them a try! Emmie’s enthusiasm, expert tuition and patience make learning a real pleasure! Thanks Emmie!
