Sheffield Jewellery Classes – No experience necessary and non-beginners are welcome too.
A course for beginners and those needing a refresher, this 6 week class introduces students to the foundations of metalworking. You’ll learn through one on one instruction, occasional group demonstrations and lots of practice while you create your own pieces of jewellery. You will develop skills in sawing, filing and sanding, soldering and polishing as well as other techniques that are relevant to your designs. You’ll also be taught how to safely use our tools and studio chemicals.
This class runs on Thursday evenings from 6pm and 8pm. For a Wednesday evening class please click here. Bookings for 6 sessions are being take now. Due to the small class sizes (max. 8), and individual attention you will be given, it is possible to join the class at any point.
You will have ample time to create a couple of pieces of jewellery for yourself, whilst also meeting some lovely like minded people who are all feeling inspired to learn a new hobby and get creative.
You can take this course more than once without worrying about repeating the same lessons, we will work with you at your level as you continue to develop and produce your jewellery.
Metal costs are not included in the course price as they vary depending on students designs. If you work in silver you can typically expect to pay between £5 and £30 (as a very rough guide) throughout. Usually students start with a silver ring/pendant in session 1 +2 and this costs about £4.
